An Epiphany With Space

The work is a series of 54 still images digitally manipulated to create a projected form in digital format.

Traditionally analog photography is intrinsically linked to ‘capturing moments in time’, moments of past events, fleeting memories now  gone. Metaphorically this work moves from chrysalis forms of traditional stills photography into the moving image and the making of art in a contemporary digital space. By manipulating still photographic images into life implies the existence of a living-breathing object, reiterating a form of transcendence of photography and the digital reality. Digital spatial realities now reveal an inter-dimensionality for photographic media not previously conceived possible with film. This metamorphosis occurs as the result of technology acting on the very essence of photography, what it use to represent and what it means to us now.
